Our Programs
Infants
Welcome to our Infant Room, serving babies from 6 weeks to approximately 1 year old. Our experienced and loving teachers understand how important it is for parents to feel comfortable and confident when leaving their little one in our care. We provide a warm, nurturing environment filled with plenty of snuggles, individual attention, and responsive care.
Because every baby is unique, our infants follow their own individual schedules, eating and sleeping according to their needs. Throughout the day, families receive updates through the Procare app, including information about feedings, naps, diaper changes, activities, and other special moments. Our teachers also love sharing photos so parents can see just how much their little one is enjoying their day!
Even our youngest learners are busy discovering the world around them. Our teachers use their knowledge of child development, along with developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities, to create an environment that grows and changes with the needs of the babies in their care.
Through tummy time, sensory exploration, music, movement, language, and lots of loving interaction, we encourage each baby’s physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development while supporting important developmental milestones.
Most importantly, we want every baby to feel safe, loved, secure, and happy at The Tree House.
Toddlers
Welcome to our Toddler Room, serving children approximately 12–24 months old! This is a hopping, busy classroom filled with curious little learners who are ready to explore, discover, and become more independent.
Our Toddler Room provides children with their first introduction to a little more structure and routine, while still allowing plenty of time for play and exploration. As part of their daily lesson plans, toddlers participate in a “mini-group time” filled with songs, stories, puppets, music, and movement, along with daily art and sensory experiences and plenty of opportunities for some wonderfully messy fun!
At this age, children are beginning to develop important social-emotional skills. With lots of patience and encouragement, our teachers help toddlers learn how to take turns, share, express their needs, and care for their friends.
Toddlers love to move, and our age-appropriate playground designed just for them gives children plenty of opportunities to climb, run, explore, and strengthen their developing gross motor skills.
The Toddler year is also filled with exciting transitions and tremendous growth as children gradually move from cribs to cots, bottles to sippy cups and eventually to big-kid cups, while becoming comfortable with a more consistent schedule for meals, play, learning, and rest.
Throughout it all, our caring teachers provide plenty of love, encouragement, and individual attention while keeping little minds and bodies actively engaged. Because we know how quickly these special moments pass, our teachers love capturing photos of your child dancing, painting, exploring, learning, and playing and sharing them with families through the Procare app.
Our goal is to give every toddler a safe and loving place where they can explore their growing independence, build confidence, and have lots of fun along the way!
Early Preschool
Welcome to our Early Preschool Room, designed for our busy and curious two-year-olds! At this age, children are becoming more independent, developing their personalities, and discovering just how much they can do all by themselves.
Our teachers provide a warm and encouraging environment where children can build confidence while learning important social and emotional skills. Through modeling and gentle guidance, we help children learn how to play alongside others, take turns, share, communicate their needs, and begin developing friendships.
Our Early Preschool classroom uses The Creative Curriculum, with an emphasis on learning through play and hands-on experiences. Each day is filled with engaging, developmentally appropriate activities that encourage children to explore, create, and discover.
Children enjoy art, sensory exploration, music and movement, stories, dramatic play, and hands-on learning activities that strengthen fine motor skills and introduce early concepts in language, literacy, math, and problem-solving. Music and Movement is an especially popular part of the day—our two-year-olds love having opportunities to sing, dance, move, and be silly!
Potty training is also an important milestone during the Early Preschool year. We look for signs that each child is developmentally ready and work closely with families, following the parents’ lead to provide a positive and consistent experience between home and school.
Our Early Preschool classroom is busy, creative, educational, and most importantly, fun!
Through lots of play, encouragement, and loving guidance, our teachers help children develop the skills and confidence they need as they take their next steps toward becoming independent preschoolers.
Preschool
Welcome to our Preschool Classroom, where our days run like a well-oiled machine! At this age, children thrive on routine, consistency, and knowing what comes next, while still having plenty of opportunities to explore, create, and have fun.
Our experienced teachers are passionate about early childhood education and believe that strong, caring relationships with children and their families create the foundation for learning. When children feel safe, supported, and connected, they are more confident exploring their environment, trying new things, and developing new skills.
Our Preschool classroom follows The Creative Curriculum, with an emphasis on hands-on, play-based learning. Each day begins with a fun and interactive Group Time, which may include a story related to the current theme, weather and calendar activities, songs, poems, games, and plenty of conversation.
Following Group Time, children participate in Learning Centers designed to keep little minds and hands actively engaged. Children rotate through activities that incorporate art, sensory exploration, early writing, math, fine motor development, and other important preschool skills. Science experiments and cooking activities are also incorporated throughout the curriculum, giving children even more opportunities to explore, investigate, and learn through experience.
Preschool is also an exciting time for growing independence and confidence. Our teachers encourage children to practice age-appropriate self-help skills, from taking care of their belongings and helping prepare their cots to participating in family-style mealtimes.
Throughout the day, children are learning much more than academics. They are developing friendships, practicing problem-solving, learning to work together, expressing their ideas, and discovering the joy of learning.
Our Preschool Classroom is a wonderful place to watch your child learn, grow, build confidence, and become increasingly independent—all while having lots of fun along the way!
Jr Pre-K
Welcome to our Junior Pre-K Classroom, designed for our older three and younger four year olds! These kiddos are full of personality, curiosity, and growing independence and they are very proud of all the things they can do!
Our teachers create a warm, engaging classroom where children are encouraged to participate, make choices, take responsibility, and become active members of their classroom community.
Junior Pre-K follows The Creative Curriculum, with a special emphasis on early literacy and learning through play. During interactive Group Time, children help run the show through
stories, songs, discussions, calendar activities, and weekly themes that build vocabulary, language, and early literacy skills.
Children especially love having their own classroom “jobs.” Using our Helper Chart, everyone gets a turn caring for classroom pets and plants, organizing materials, and taking on special responsibilities that build confidence, independence, cooperation, and a sense of belonging.
Following Group Time, children rotate through Learning Centers with hands-on activities focusing on art, sensory exploration, math, early handwriting, and fine motor development. Science experiments and cooking activities add even more opportunities to ask questions, make predictions, explore, and discover.
There is also plenty of time to move! Music and Movement is a favorite, and you may even catch this energetic group putting on a parade. Junior Pre-K children also love playing on the “big kid” playground, where they become familiar with our Pre-K teachers and begin preparing for a comfortable and exciting transition into Pre-K.
Junior Pre-K is a fun-filled, activity-packed year where children build friendships, develop independence, take on new challenges, and discover just how much fun learning can be.
Pre-K
Welcome to our Pre-Kindergarten Classroom, where an exciting final year at The Tree House prepares our children for their next big adventure—Kindergarten! Our experienced and dedicated teachers work throughout the year to make sure each child leaves us feeling confident, capable, independent, and ready to succeed.
Our Pre-K classroom follows The Creative Curriculum, combining purposeful, play-based learning with hands-on experiences designed specifically for our oldest preschoolers. Special attention is given to phonological awareness, early literacy, language development, math, writing, and Kindergarten-readiness skills, while still remembering that young children learn best when they are actively engaged and having fun.
Each day includes an interactive Group Time centered around our current theme, with stories, songs, conversations, sight words, literacy activities, and other foundational skills. Following Group Time, children rotate through Learning Centers featuring engaging activities focused on art, sensory exploration, math, fine motor development, and handwriting, with science experiments and cooking activities incorporated throughout the year.
We also believe some of the most meaningful learning happens beyond the walls of the classroom. Nature walks and outdoor exploration give children opportunities to observe the changing seasons, investigate the natural world, and experience learning firsthand.
As our oldest preschoolers, Pre-K students also have opportunities to learn about kindness, compassion, and giving back to their community through special service experiences. One of our favorite traditions is visiting a local nursing home, where our children spread a little Tree House cheer by caroling for the residents during the holiday season. These experiences help children discover that even when they are little, they can make a big difference in someone else’s day.
The year ends with one of our most treasured Tree House traditions—our Pre-K Graduation Ceremony, a special celebration shared by teachers, children, and families as we recognize how much each child has grown and accomplished.
Our goal is for every Pre-K graduate to leave The Tree House with more than the academic skills needed for Kindergarten. We want them to leave with confidence, independence, curiosity, compassion, a love of learning, and wonderful memories of their time as part of our Tree House family.
School Age
Our School Age Program provides a fun, relaxed place for children to start and end their school day. During the school year, we primarily offer before- and after-school care, as well as full-day care on select days when the Wentzville School District is closed for professional development.
Transportation is available for several area elementary schools. Journey currently provides bus transportation to and from The Tree House, and The Tree House provides transportation to and from Peine Ridge Elementary, Wabash Elementary, and Heritage Elementary School.
After spending much of their school day following a structured schedule, we believe school-age children need time to unwind, have fun, and simply be kids! When they return to The Tree House, they are greeted with an afternoon snack and plenty of opportunities for outdoor play. Our classroom offers a relaxed atmosphere where children can socialize with friends, explore their interests, and receive homework help when needed.
Rather than filling their afternoons with another rigid schedule, our teachers pay attention to what interests the children and look for ways to build upon those interests. Sometimes that means spending two weeks designing and perfecting a leprechaun trap—even after St. Patrick’s Day has passed! Other days may include elaborate LEGO creations, intricate forts, art projects, games, or imaginative group activities.
Our goal is to provide a safe, welcoming space where school-age children feel connected, supported, and excited to spend time with their friends and teachers. After a busy school day, The Tree House is a place where they can relax, create, explore, and have fun!
Camp Tree House
A Summer Camp That's Second to None!
Summer at The Tree House is something Special! Our school Age Summer Camp is designed to give children a summer filled with adventure, friendship, new experiences, and a whole lot of fun creating memories they’ll enjoy long after summer is over.
Our campers enjoy fun field trips every week, along with special activities, outdoor adventures, creative projects, games, and plenty y of time with friends. No two weeks are exactly alike, so there is always something new to look forward to!
One of the things that make our camp truly unique is our Summer of Service. Each week, campers have an opportunity to do something kind for someone else or give back to their community. They may visit residents at a local nursing home, create something special for others, or hid small toys at store for unsuspecting children to discover, experiencing firsthand just hour good it feels to brighten someone else’s day.
Of course, summer should also include plenty off time to just be a kid! Our campers play outside, get messy, be creative, laugh with friends, try new things, and enjoy a break from the structure of the school year.
At The Tree House, we believe an amazing summer is about more than actives and field trips.
It’s about the memories they make, friendships they build, adventures they share, and the difference they discover they can make in the lives of others.
Our Summer Camp is truly second to none and we can’t wait to see what adventures this summer brings!
